I have found similarities in the scars ingrained in the body and the scars left in moments on concrete, architecture and sidewalks. These little scars showing this indexical marker that somewhere, something, someone was there and impacted this cold hard monolith. It humanizes these solid lifeless objects and memorializes these small moments much as scars on the body do. These small interactions emphasize this inherent taking and giving of any relationship and we are left to see the wake of such. I can only assume that someone walked away wiping concrete off of their shoe, and the concrete will forever feel the weight of the person who once stood on top of it.
